As part of the ongoing collaboration between STC and Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) Colombia, 10 students from SENA participated in an immersive study week in Rotterdam from 18–22 May, exploring the dynamic world of ports and logistics.

Throughout the week, the students took part in theoretical masterclasses and gained firsthand insights into the sector through visits to STC Brielle, the Port of Rotterdam, RDM Rotterdam, and a Koninklijke Spido BV. harbor tour.

The program offered a unique opportunity to connect theory with practice, while strengthening international cooperation and knowledge exchange in the maritime and logistics sector. We are proud to contribute to international knowledge exchange and to strengthen cooperation between Colombia and the Netherlands in the field of port and logistics education.

Strengthening Maritime Management Expertise in the Brazilian Amazon

Between May 11–15, 2026, the Centro de Treinamento Aquaviário (CTA) of SEST SENAT in Belém hosted an intensive Ship Management course delivered by Professor Djurre Jan Schutte of STC Next.

During the five-day programme, inland waterway professionals explored ship & crew management, technical management, compliance, safety culture, and operational efficiency. Participants also developed their own inland navigation company concepts based on real operational challenges.

The training marks another important step in strengthening maritime knowledge exchange and cooperation between Brazil and the Netherlands.
