Last year, we at Ristorante Luca in Haarlem received the emblem of the Accademia Italiana della Cucina, an honour reserved for restaurants that protect the authenticity of Italian cuisine.

On the flag, you can also see a reference to the UNESCO heritage symbol, the temple that represents culture and preservation.

Now that Italian cuisine has officially been recognised as UNESCO Cultural Heritage, this emblem carries even greater meaning. It reflects what my grandfather Nicola and my father Luca taught me.
The traditions of my Italian family, honoured every day through honest cooking and true hospitality.

My thanks go to my family and my colleagues:
together we carry this heritage forward, keeping its true value alive for everyone who joins us at our table.

Remko is Dutch but like a great Italian red wine.
