The site of the former “De Fruitberg” campsite has been used by the COA to accommodate refugees over the past few decades. Over time, only the infrastructure and nature remained on the site. The buildings and facilities on the site were all outdated and/or demolished.

The layout of the site had already been designed by , and we as .i_architects then designed the new buildings on the campsite for . The clients wanted to fit the campsite into the surroundings with great respect for the neighbours and the environment.

In order to create a campsite in a beautiful natural environment, we designed buildings with a low-impact design. The reception and catering facilities are located in an existing building that has been renovated and furnished in a circular way. The new sanitary building is bio-based and was built by the clients themselves.
