The (applied) mathematics programme committee (in Dutch: opleidingscommissie or OC) consists of an equal number of students and staff members. We ensure the quality of the programme by advising – solicited or unsolicited – on all aspects pertaining to education; for instance the form and contents of the courses, the examinations, the timetable, and changes in the programme. Course evaluation
Our
main task is to evaluate courses, both during the courses (so we can solve any immediate problems) and afterward. We, the student members of the programme committee, represent all students of (applied) mathematics in this matter. To carry out this task, we need input from our fellow students through the feedback groups we set up for every cohort. Meetings of the feedback groups are open: all students of (applied) mathematics are welcome to give their opinion about the courses they are taking and have taken. General comments and suggestions regarding the programme are also welcome. You can also contact us outside of meetings by e-mail or in person; our names can be found below. What happens with your feedback? If possible we immediately take action, for example by contacting a lecturer if we have received comments about his or her lectures. Matters which can't be resolved in this way are discussed in meetings with the both the student and staff members. The results of the evaluation forms that you fill out at the end of an exam are also processed by us. For the results of past evaluations and what we have done with them, see our blog. Teacher of the Year Election
In addition to the evaluation of courses mentioned above we organize the Teacher of the Year Election. This is one of the reasons why we also like to hear positive feedback.
