Plus One Design - Architectural Rendering and Visualization

Last week we shared our renderings for a residential home by Retrofit Design.

Did you know there is much more to this home than just its unique looks? The architect made many environmentally-conscious decisions throughout the design process:

"A large goal with this design is to integrate historic look and feel with modern eco-friendly and health conscious materials and methods. The water and conditioned air are filtered with state-of-the-art technology while every component inside the building shell has been vetted to meet any number of safe, healthy, non-toxic certification or rating systems. Depending on features chosen, this home could be carbon neutral, net-zero energy, or even passive.

The materials chosen are quite diverse, but many were selected for their low carbon footprint (low environmental impact) as well as their final look and feel. The engineered structure was designed to minimize material use and be wind and hail resistant (based on national IBHS programs). Inside, materials range from VOC-free finishes, locally sourced stone and tile, composite products that last a lifetime and warm, inviting colors and textures.

Two stories and a compact footprint help maximize thermal performance of this super-insulated, energy efficient home."
