We kicked off the :on Slow AI conversation series with Moisés Horta Valenzuela (aka hexorcismos) and it was such a good one. We got into his SEMILLA.AI project - a generative audio synthesizer that learns from entropy and underfitting rather than mimicry, treating latent space like a synthesizer where the parameters are unknown 🌽

We learned that semilla means seed - both as the start of something in nature and in generative AI. The whole project is inspired by Mayan cosmology, where the gods threw corn and would read the patterns of falling maize to call a world into existence. But why would the gods use corn?
