PHOENIX OF INNER FIGHT

The Phoenix of Inner Fight nests between the ease and the weight of creativity. It moves gently through clouds and mental calm, while carrying the heavy vines of struggle, doubt, and insecurity that every creative process holds. It longs to rise freely, yet fears flying too boldly — of becoming too much.

As a Totem, it reminds us that creativity grows not only from pleasure, but from the strength to carry what is heavy and uncertain — and to keep flying gently forward, even against the wind.

The Totem series, initiated in 2025, is a collection of personal illustration experiments translated into rug designs. As statement rugs or bespoke floor pieces, the animals act as protectors and symbols of luck, transforming interiors into spaces of layered storytelling and meaning.

Memento Moooi Medley is one of the signature artworks we created for the Memento Moooi wallcovering collection, launched in 2022 by Moooi. The pattern was later adapted across various company products, from carpets and broadlooms to stationery, gift items, animations, and web assets.

Today, the animals depicted in the design's dreamy landscape continue their celestial life among soft clouds and multi-layered plants.
