Is the use of crown witnesses still tenable?
With that question, crime journalist Marian Husken and Francine Hofstee developed the podcast series Wie praat, die slaapt for sublab. A podcast series that is more relevant than ever, after the murders of the brother of crown witness Nabil B., lawyer Derk Wiersum and confidant Peter R. de Vries.
There is one clear rule in the criminal underworld: wie praat, die slaapt (those that talk, go to sleep). Snitching gets you killed. In this new 8-part podcast series, renowned crime journalist Marian Husken and journalist Maike van Leeuwen speak with the main characters of high-profile criminal cases: lawyers, judges, public prosecutors, and (ex) criminals. For the first time, they reveal what lies behind the high-profile crown witness deals between criminals and the Justice Department.
