I’ve been feeling a little bloated and gurgly in my belly and tired in my mind and body in the last few days.
These are key symptoms of spleen qi deficiency in Chinese medicine. (The spleen, with the stomach, is the key organ of digestion and arguable the centre of your health).
When I woke up feeling heavy, tired and bloated today I went to my healing toolbox to encourage my body back to balance.
In todays toolbox 🧰 👇
1️⃣ Deep belly breaths - with one hand to my belly, one hand to my heart
2️⃣ Belly massage using soothing oils (see previous post on how to massage your belly)
3️⃣ Needles - I used the digestive diamond (as pictured) to soothe and nourish my digestion. This was paired with distal points in my wrists and ankles - distal points are thought to be even more powerful that local points.
4️⃣ Rest - I lay for 20 minutes to allow the needles to do the work, I lay down after teaching my classes. This is the space and time to give yourself as much rest as your body is asking for. The more you push your body when it’s in disharmony, the more it will push back.

Going for a walk in nature is like taking a big exhale, somehow you feel a little lighter and a little more free.
