It will remind you how great it feels to sit,
walk and even stand like a Queen - or a King! Imagine:
You are sitting in front of the computer, getting sucked into the screen. Slowly your neck and shoulders collapse (maybe even right now as you read this...?)
The longerterm result: pain in your neck and lower back ...aaargh-)))

So what could be different? Put your feet on the ground positioned und

The power is in your pelvis.
Are you connected to that power?

It was revolutionary in the 60-ties, when Elvis Presley started to shake his hips when he sang, hence the nickname:

Elvis, the Pelvis.

We are not in the 60-ties anymore, but still
many women - and not only women! - also men, have reservations, blockages, or even shame about the pelvic area.

How is your relationship to your hips and pelvis?
Here is a short intro film on the Pelvic Grounding Matrix:

Today, I'd like to tackle a topic that's a hot item:

CONFIRM THE PAIN versus NOURISH THE PROGRESS

What?

Here is a story from my practice:

It's a woman in her late forties, beginning fifties.
She had an accident, fell down the stairs on her back, and as consequence experienced severe pain on the sacrum and tailbone.
She came in highly stressed, and had seen a physiotherapist prior who had advised her to get a massage to calm her nervous system.

During the treatment I check in with her regularly how she feels and if there is any pain.
She is puzzled, as she is painfree.
And moves on the table in search for the painful spot.

Here is what I see many times:

Once you have had an accident, or a trauma, the body goes into healing, -if you let it!

Very common is though, that people interfere with that healing process by:

- being impatient
- wanting things to go faster
- dismiss the (small) signs of the healing progress
..and:
to confirm the pain.
Deliberately going into the place of pain, as if to see if it's still there.

It's- metaphorically speaking- the equivalent of stubbornly scratching off the grind of the healing wound, to see it bleed.

What to do instead?

Here is what I recommend:

notice what IS possible
don't compare to how it was before
celebrate small changes

And: see a practicioner / coach / therapist that you trust and respect for guidance, regularly.

Use the situation to observe your daily habits, your lifestyle,
and how you can adjust to support the healing,
rather than resist and poke into the pain.

I call it: NOURISH THE PROCESS.

Stick out your Neck.
Brake your Neck.
You are a pain in the ....Neck.
There are many sayings about the neck.
Language transports meaning, bodies convey stories.
Many of my massage clients come in with complaints about neck and shoulder pain.
The other day I treated a 12 -year old boy who had a stiff neck as result of constantly bending his head down to look at his i-phone (text neck syndrome).
Does that sound Familiar?
Needless to say:
I am an advocate of prevention,
rather than damage repair.
3 Tips for prevention:
Hold your I-phone up to your eyes rather than looking down at it.
Roll your spine slowly down and up again
Get an i-crown and use it during fixed times of the day.
The trick is:
Doing it.
