So guys, there's this dude that broke up with his babe because of poor academic performance.

In his words: "I once broke up with someone because she was failing miserably in school. How can you be on a 1.5 CGPA? Can’t be my babe, please. I deserve better. 🙏🏽

"She wasn’t making any genuine effort to improve her grades. I’m forgiving of failure, but the deal breaker is your attitude towards it. You have to at least be trying to improve your chances of success.”

Some reactions to his action:

commented: “Lmfaooo this is valid please 😭”

asked, “You go manage 2.0?”

replied, “Wahala for those who don’t know book 😭”

said: “Valid tbh, imagine your kids inherit her brain.”

What's your own take?

Former NMU Deputy Chief Cadet Captain Asiwa David Onyeka Earns Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for Master's in Europe

Asiwa David Onyeka, a graduate of Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) and former Deputy Chief Cadet Captain, has achieved a significant milestone by securing the highly esteemed European Union Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. This prestigious award will allow him to pursue a Master of Science in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSea) at top European universities.

Onyeka, who graduated from NMU’s Department of Environmental Management and Pollution, will be studying at Ghent University in Belgium, University of Oviedo in Spain, and Gothenburg University in Sweden over the next two years. The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, known for its competitive selection process, also provides financial support, meaning Onyeka will be paid while studying.

Reflecting on this achievement, Onyeka shared,
“I graduated from the Department of Environmental Management and Pollution and have been blessed to win the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. I’ll be studying in the International Master of Science in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSea) program at several European universities, including Ghent University (Belgium), University of Oviedo (Spain), and Gothenburg University (Sweden)."

Currently based in Belgium, Onyeka offered words of advice to current NMU students, encouraging them to remain focused on their academics and trust the process:

“To those still in school, just make sure you finish well with a good grade. It will be less tedious from there on. There are a lot of intelligent people I’ve come across while in NMU, but the nature of your environment may hinder you, let you go into bad things because of fear of the future, and make you settle for less. Don’t let it define you. Trust God and trust the process. God has always been by your side.
Ps: I’m furthering my education and being paid to study."

Onyeka's achievement not only highlights his perseverance and hard work but also serves as a powerful reminder of the opportunities available to NMU graduates. His journey underscores the importance of academic excellence and resilience, despite environmental challenges.

With the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, Onyeka joins an elite group of international scholars committed to advancing marine biological resource research. His success is expected to inspire many NMU students to aim for similar achievements abroad.
