Chelsea prepare €80m bid for 'SIGNIFICANT' January signing. Chelsea are reportedly preparing an €80 million offer to secure Real Madrid winger Rodrygo in the upcoming January transfer window. The Premier League club, managed by Enzo Maresca, are determined to strengthen their attacking options as they push for a major signing midway through the season.

Rodrygo, who extended his contract with Real Madrid earlier this year, has found limited playing time under Xabi Alonso, featuring in only three of the club’s 15 matches so far and accumulating just 348 minutes. Despite his long-term deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 24-year-old Brazilian could consider an exit if a strong bid arrives, with Chelsea reportedly leading the chase. Although Chelsea spent heavily in the summer, adding talents like Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao Willian, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Facundo Buonanotte, Maresca is still eager to add another high-profile attacker. The club had also been linked with a potential €120m move for AC Milan star Rafael Leao, but Rodrygo has now emerged as the more attainable option.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea’s hierarchy view Rodrygo as a “significant” target who can immediately elevate their frontline. His Estimated Transfer Value stands at €75.2m, slightly lower than before due to a lengthy goal drought, but the Blues believe his technical quality and versatility justify the investment.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also monitoring Rodrygo’s situation, yet Chelsea appear the most aggressive in their pursuit.
