Introducing the Social Values Campaign of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Reorientation, Hon. Ekpeno Gold.

1. Societal values play important roles in the social lives of individuals and development of the society at large. They deal with habits, behaviours and attitudes exhibited and encouraged by members of the society. Social values form an integral part of societal progress and transformation. It therefore means that the failure of any society to follow identified positive values will bring about retrogression in its
development and growth.

2. It is on that note, that worried by the seemingly decaying social values in Akwa Ibom and the need to foster more growth in the state, that the Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Reorientation, Mr Ekpeno Gold, has launched the "Social Values Campaigns", an initiative which seeks to intensely promote positive social values among Akwa Ibomites.

3. The campaign seeks to discourage affront on Elders, theft and destruction of government properties, truancy, lateness and absenteeism among workers, dishonesty, cultism, fraud and cheating, while promoting
honesty, integrity, diligence truth, obedience, loyalty, etc.

4. To ensure wide participation from members of the public, the campaign will involve visits to schools, churches and markets. It will also take place on social media platforms, with a yet to be announced weekly contest, where winners shall be rewarded with handsome prizes.

5. Members of the public are therefore encouraged to key into this initiative which more details shall be made public in the days to come.
