✔️ON GOVERNOR ENO'S SPIRIT FILLED MESSAGE

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, urged Christians not to allow their past mistakes, present circumstances or the opinions of others to define their future, assuring them that God is able to transform lives, change identities and rewrite destinies according to His divine purpose.

The Governor gave the charge while ministering at the National Combine Praise and Worship Service held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket. The service was themed “Divine Rechristening,” with its anchor scripture taken from Isaiah 62:4.

Governor Eno, who also serves as the Undershepherd of the ministry, stressed that God sees people according to His purpose rather than their present condition, urging believers to trust God’s process and remain confident in His promises.

“When He said, ‘I will call you by your new name,’ it means your past doesn’t hold you captive. God is about giving you a new identity and a new name. Every time people see you and describe you by your condition, God sees you in your purpose,” he said.

He explained that whenever God is preparing an individual for a new season, He first transforms the person’s identity and perception, noting that divine transformation is never limited by background or past mistakes.

According to him, God has the power to turn shame into glory, poverty into abundance, failure into success and sorrow into joy, urging Christians to remain steadfast in faith and patiently wait for God’s appointed time.

Governor Eno also charged leaders and public office holders to remain humble and continually acknowledge God’s grace, reminding them that positions of authority are temporary and sustained only by divine favour.

“No matter the position God brings you into, you will understand that without God you are nothing. It didn’t cost God anything to put you there, and it won’t cost Him anything to take you out. The same people you treated badly, you will meet them again,” he admonished.

He further encouraged believers not to become discouraged by delays, citing the biblical examples of Abraham and Joseph as evidence that God’s timing ultimately produces enduring blessings.

The well-attended service featured choir ministrations, praise and worship, prayer sessions, child dedication and other moments of spiritual ministration.

✔️ON INSPECTION OF NSIT UBIUM -OFRIYO - EKET ROAD/BRIDGE

In line with the his commitment to ensure that projects across the State are executed according to specifications, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, today, Monday July 6, 2026, defied the rain for his routine projects inspection with a charge on contractors to deliver the projects for commissioning before December 2026.

The Governor who visited some projects in Eket and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas, marched through the marshy earth of some areas to see through the projects with intermittent instructions where necessary.

Fielding questions from Government House Correspondents shortly after the exercise, the Governor said it was necessary to match the level of work on ground with what was presented by the Commissioner for Works at the delivery meeting held recently.

The Governor also noted that it was his style to inspect projects located within his area of visit per time, adding that having been in his home town, Nsit Ubium, over the weekend, it was necessary to visit project sites within his area and neighbouring Eket.

While saying there was tangible improvement from his last inspection visit, he urged the contractors to double efforts in order to deliver according to specifications and on time.

He advised the contractors to maximize time, and also device means of working round the clock.

"I like seeing things for myself. That's why I'm here to look at the quality and the extent of progress of their work to motivate them to do more and deliver as expected.

"They have made progress, but I will be much more impressed when I take delivery of the projects. But then, from what we have seen so far, we have reasons to believe that they will deliver to the expected standard and timeline," he said.

In his commitment, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of one of the contracting firm, Amitec Construction and Development Limited, Aiman Saimua, said his company has put mechanism in place to deliver the jobs in time.

✔️GOVERNOR ENO SYMPATHISED WITH FLOOD VICTIMS, ORDERED REMEDIAL WORK ON AFFECTED AREAS

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has sympathised with families and individuals affected by the recent flash - flood in parts of the State, calling for concerted effort to prevent recurrence.

Fielding questions from Government House Correspondents at the Victor Attah International Airport, on his arrival from official engagements outside the State, Friday July 10, 2026, he described the incident as unfortunate, and assured that government has put modalities in place to manage the situation.

Governor Eno noted that while government was committed to its responsibilities, all hands must be on deck to prevent recurrence, by desilting drainages around their premises, and maintaining a clean environment.

He appealed to citizens and residents of the State to take responsibility for keeping drainage channels free of refuse, stressing that the fight against the flash - floods currently affecting parts of the state requires a collective effort between government and citizens.

According to him, similar flash - floods have occurred in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country, despite warnings issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), making it imperative for residents to complement government's intervention by maintaining clean surroundings.

He observed that indiscriminate disposal of refuse into gutters and drainage channels remains one of the major causes of urban flooding, lamenting that many residents watch drains around their homes become clogged while waiting for government to clear them.

The Governor said environmental sanitation should not be viewed as a government exercise alone but as a civic responsibility, recalling that communities traditionally came together to clear drains and maintain their environment long before modern sanitation agencies were established.

He explained that while the State Government will continue to undertake large-scale desilting of major canals and storm-water channels, residents must ensure that drains in front of their homes and business premises remain free of debris to allow the easy flow of floodwater.

"We must work together. Let us stop blocking our drainages with refuse. Government will continue to do its part, but the people also have a responsibility to keep the environment clean," the Governor said.

He also urged residents to heed weather advisories and flood warnings issued by relevant agencies, emphasizing that prevention remains the most effective response to flash flooding.

The State Chief Executive reaffirmed his administration's commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring that government has already directed the immediate deployment of construction firms and relevant agencies to flood-prone communities to evacuate storm water, desilt blocked drainage channels and restore access to affected areas.
