LG ELECTION: Hon. Inibehe Umah Emerges PDP Consensus Candidate for Ini Chairmanship

In a significant political development, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ini LGA, Hon. Inibehe Umah has been adopted by the State leadership of the People's Democratic Party as the consensus candidate for the Chairmanship position in Ini Local Government Area for the forthcoming local government elections.

The adoption took place yesterday, July 24, 2024, during an enlarged Akwa Ibom State PDP Stakeholders meeting at the Government House, Uyo.

The presentation of Hon. Umah to the state leadership of the Party was done by the leadership of Ini LGA led by Rt. Hon. Elder Prof. Ini Udoka.

Presenting Umah, Prof. Udoka highlighted his exceptional performance as the Transition Committee Chairman and the widespread approval of his candidacy across all parts of Ini.

The Director-General of Government Business, Chief Assam Assam SAN, who received the preferred candidate on behalf of the State PDP leadership, commended the leadership of Ini LGA for their effective management and leadership during the selection process.

The State PDP leadership accepted and approved Hon. Umah's consensus candidacy, instructing him to proceed with the purchase of the PDP Chairmanship Nomination Form.

The stakeholders Obot Akara LGA endorsed Hon Simon Dominic Akpan as the PDP Chairmanship candidate for Obot Akara Local Government Area in the forthcoming Local Government election in Akwa Ibom State.

This is the ‘remains’ of the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge and other assets in Lagos commissioned by The Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State. His Excellency Wing Commander Idongesit Nkanga (Late) in July 1991. It is in such a choice location in Lagos and Pastor Umo Eno intends to convert it into a commercial tower to bring revenue to the state.

The same lame arguments that always greets serious projects in the state have been resurrected. If I had this sort of asset, I won’t sell it off, cheap. I will develop it and keep it for children. It is not every food that must be eaten now in full.

Folks are even planning a protest to show the Governor is not performing. I have created a counter petition to encourage the Governor to go ahead!
