COMMON ERRORS IN ENGLISH!

A quick look at some of the errors that most speakers of English are used to.

1. Wrong : I want to eat meat pies.
Correct: I want to eat mince pies.

2. Wrong : You better mind your business.
Correct: You had better mind your
business.

3. Wrong : I am dark in complexion.
Correct: I am dark.

4. Wrong : Who do you take me for?
Correct: Whom do you take me for?

5. Wrong : I have a running nose.
Correct: I have a runny nose.

6. Wrong : Dangote is stinkingly rich.
Correct: Dangote is stinking rich.

7. Wrong : Where are you heading to?
Correct: Where are you heading for?

8. Wrong : I'm very good in French.
Correct: I'm very good at French.

9. Wrong : Are you hearing me, please?
Correct: Can you hear me, please?

10. Wrong: Can I see you for a minute?
Correct: May I see you for a minute?
