According to these super complicated rules, every time a team comes in second, the points they got from the last team in their group get subtracted from their total points. Yeah, it's a real brain twister. For example, let's say you won against some team in your group, both at home and away, that's 6 points, which means 6 points get subtracted from your total points. Nigeria got 2 points from Zimbabwe, and had 17 points total, so after doing the fancy math, they were left with 15 points.
