The Fall of the Animal Kingdom
Long, long ago, all animals lived together in harmony. They worked as one, building water reserves, storing food, and securing their homes. To ensure fairness, they agreed that each group of animals would lead for twelve moon seasons before passing leadership to another.
The Hyenas’ Rule
The first leaders were the hyenas. They were feared and respected, but they had a flaw—they were lazy. After feasting, they would sleep for days, ignoring the animals’ concerns. Worse still, if anyone dared to question them, they risked being eaten alive. The animals grumbled but had no choice. They had to wait for the twelve moon seasons to end.
The Monkeys Take Over
When the monkeys came to power, the animals rejoiced. The monkeys were hardworking and friendly, always laughing and jumping around. For the first six moons, things seemed to improve. But soon, the animals noticed a problem. Though their farms were full of healthy crops, the food stores were mysteriously empty. The animals started to starve, yet the monkeys were growing fatter.
One night, the clever kangaroos uncovered the truth—the monkey leaders were secretly stealing food. When the animals confronted them, the monkeys turned violent. They beat anyone who dared to ask questions. Fear spread through the land, but the animals endured, waiting for the next election.
The Rise of the Kangaroos
At last, the monkeys’ time ended, and the animals chose the kangaroos as leaders, remembering their honesty. At first, they ruled with fairness, establishing courts and a system of justice. The animals believed they had found the perfect leaders.
But soon, the kangaroos became obsessed with making laws—laws that restricted movement, laws that silenced complaints, laws that imposed heavy taxes on even the smallest things. Then, they made the most shocking decision: they removed the twelve-moon term and declared themselves rulers for life.
The Great Exodus
The animals could no longer take care of themselves under the crushing weight of penalties and taxes. The kangaroos grew richer while the others suffered. One by one, groups of animals abandoned the land, seeking new places to build their own kingdoms—kingdoms where they could be free.
And so, the once-united animal community fell apart, all because those in power—whether hyenas, monkeys, or kangaroos—had taken more than their fair share.
What will you do if your in such situations? 🥺🙆
