Big news! The Global Impact for Rural Innovation Foundation (GIRIF) has officially launched HackHealth 2.0 and we are excited to share that 151 passionate individuals applied to be part of this transformative journey!

This is more than just a program. It is a movement.

HackHealth 2.0 is bringing together innovators, problem-solvers, and change-makers from across Africa to build tech-driven, community-focused solutions that address real rural health challenges.

From February to March 2026, participants will engage in weekly Saturday sessions (10 AM GMT), culminating in a high-impact final hackathon competition.

Mothers walk long distances in search of water for their families, children study late into the night under dim lanterns because electricity is scarce, and young people chase their dreams even when opportunities appear far beyond their reach.

At GIRIF, we witness perseverance every single day. We see it in the farmer who continues to till his soil even when the rains fail him year after year. We see it in the student who refuses to give up, sitting beneath a tree with her books determined to pass her exams against all odds. We see it in the unity of entire villages who come together with collective hope, working hand in hand to build stronger futures for themselves and their children.

Perseverance teaches us that progress is not always immediate and that real change requires patience, determination, and courage to keep moving forward when the road is long and uncertain. It is in these steady steps and persistent efforts that transformation truly begins. Each lesson learned, each well dug, and each seed planted is a reminder that persistence builds foundations that last for generations.
