Activist Douglas Wilcox Condemns Ogu/Bolo LGA Chairman’s Silence Over Simeon Milton’s Death

Human rights activist Douglas Wilcox has condemned the continued silence and inaction of the Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, who also serves as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the LGA, following the death of Simeon Milton.

Milton was allegedly beaten to death on 22 December 2025 by Simeon Imbu, a known cult leader, alongside others. Despite the gravity of the incident, the LGA Chairman has, as of the time of this report, neither visited the crime scene nor issued any public statement.

Wilcox described the silence as disturbing and unacceptable, noting that the failure of the LGA’s chief security authority to respond raises serious concerns about accountability, justice, and the safety of residents.

He called on relevant authorities to act swiftly, ensure a transparent investigation, and demonstrate leadership by engaging directly with the affected community.
