DO'S AND DONT'S OF PRESSING

1. Always press seams as you sew to set stitches and achieve smooth results.
2. Use the correct heat setting for your fabric to avoid damage.
3. Protect delicate fabrics with a pressing cloth to prevent scorching and shine.
4. Press by lifting the iron rather than dragging it to avoid stretching the fabric.
5. Use tools like tailor’s hams and seam rolls to press curved or small areas effectively.

6. Never press over pins as it can leave marks or damage your iron.
7. Avoid using steam on delicate fabrics without testing first to prevent water spots or shrinking.
8. Don’t skip interfacing where needed, as it provides necessary structure.
9. Never press directly over buttons, zippers, or embellishments to avoid damage.
10. Don’t over-press or press against the grain, as it can distort the fabric.
