Manner of Approach Matters ✨
When you meet or chat with someone for the very first time, your approach says a lot about you. First impressions matter — they can either open the door for further conversations or shut it completely.
If you barely know someone, starting with greetings like “Babe, what’s up?” or “Hi baby” is honestly not the best way to go. You don’t know the person’s personality, what excites them, or what completely turns them off.
Sometime ago, someone I’ve never spoken to before messaged me with “Hi baby”. He doesn’t know me, has never met me, and yet chose to start the conversation like that. Honestly, I was so put off.
Respect is key.
If you want to connect with someone new, especially online, start with a simple, polite greeting:

“Hello, my name is…”

“Hi, it’s nice to connect with you…”

“Good morning/afternoon, I saw your profile and thought to say hi…”

Small courtesies go a long way. Be formal at first. Let familiarity and closeness grow naturally over time. Jumping straight into overfamiliar terms might make you seem disrespectful or insincere — and that could cost you the chance to build something meaningful.
Let’s normalize respectful and thoughtful introductions. Good manners will never go out of style. 💯
