"I have a personal relationship with God because I read or teach the Bible"

The Scripture is given by the inspiration of God. It is only those who have the Spirit of God and are inspired by God that can comprehend, apply and live out the terms of the scriptures.

There are individuals with head knowledge of the Bible. They focus on the letter and not the spirit behind the written word. Hence, they put the wrong construction on the Bible, with their personal interpretation, and thereby fall into error or lead men into error.

Amplified Bible (2 Peter 1:20-21)
But understand this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of or comes from one’s own [personal or special] interpretation,

For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Myth 2: About Personal Relationship with God

"I have a personal relationship with God because I am born into a Christian family"

Every man is born in iniquity, with the sinful nature, regardless of your family background. So, it is not unlikely for an individual or a child who is born into a godly family to pursue ungodly interest.

That's why everyone who wants to live with God on the right side of eternity must be born again.

Are you born again? Do you have a personal relationship with God?
