(CASE STUDY)

A friend of mine was flagged down by the Police attached to the Area Command Onitsha.Date was saturday ,september 6,2025.
MY friend called me for INTERVENTION.
I asked for his alleged offence.He told me that police discovered some differences in the numbers on vehicle glasses.He drives RAV4.
He said they wanted to take him to their station.

ISSUES.
1. Police has reasonable ground to suspect and question him.
2. Police may decide to leave him but with advice to correct the anomalies.
3. Police ,may collect money and still advice him on what to do .
4. Police may simply extort him and he goes away .
5. Many more options including detention,impoundment and prosecution...

QUESTIONS.
1. Since he has been driving the vehicle and " changed" some glasses,why has he not been able to correct the numbers on the screens?
2. How long must he continue to BEG,EXPLAIN and COMPLAIN ?
3. Is he not the one giving police room to EXTORT him?
4. HAS police in any way VIOLATED HIS RIGHTS?

AS A HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS,IF THIS YOUR FRIEND CALLED YOU FOR INTERVENTION,HOW CAN YOU ASSISST HIM?

3.How can you CONFRONT THE POLICE IN THIS MATTER?
