On Monday, 8th June 2026, we had an interactive session with the 2025 Chike Okonyia Award Winner, Sir Obi Okechukwu (1977 Set), at his residence in Awka.

The session provided an opportunity to engage with the distinguished award recipient, who shared valuable insights, experiences, and reflections on his journey and contributions to the Dengramite community.

Other Dengramites present at the interactive session were:

• Mr. Ernest Emengo Jnr – Assistant Secretary General, DOBA Worldwide & Secretary, DOBA Awka Branch

As preparations for the 2026 DOBA Worldwide Convention gather momentum, members, class sets, branches, and friends of the Association are encouraged to place adverts, goodwill messages, and congratulatory messages in the Convention Brochure.

From your days as Chaplain to your impactful tenure as Principal, you planted seeds that will continue to grow for generations.

You were not just a leader in title, but a shepherd who truly cared. Your words inspired, your prayers strengthened, and your leadership transformed lives. The halls of DMGS still echo with the values, standards, and memories you left behind.

Though seasons change and transitions come, one thing remains certain — you will always be a part of the DMGS story. We sincerely miss your fatherly presence, your guidance, your smiles, your corrections, and the passion with which you served God and the school community.

As we gather for this Testimonial Service in your honour, we do so with thankful hearts, celebrating a man who laboured faithfully in service to God and humanity. Indeed, according to the scripture, you are worthy of double honour.

DOBA UK & Ireland, Chief Vincent Azie of Eziowelle, Anambra state mourns the painful exit of Engr. Chigozie Azie, active member DOBA UK & Ireland and DMGS class of 1998.
