I am making this post to open your eyes. Dear aspirants to the Catholic priesthood, beware of people you meet on social media who present themselves as whom they are not. It is quite understandable that you want someone to guide you hence you rush into the DM of people who portray themselves as priests or even seminarians while they are not, but it is not acceptable that you enable these people to extort you.

They have studied and observed how desperate you can be and how far you can go just to gain admission into the seminary, for this, they create fake accounts and describe themselves as priests or seminarians. This is what they use against you to extort money from you directly or from a third party. You can find them in religious groups on this app. They are even difficult to differentiate, but not impossible.

These people will prey on your finances while promising to help you gain admission into the Seminary. Be careful.

To be safe I want you to note these; no seminarian can offer you admission. He can only guide and encourage you. He has no right nor reason to ask you for money, even the minimum amount, rather he gives you as a support for your journeys if he has.

As for those who claim to be priests; vocation directors to the best of my knowledge do not ask aspirants to wire money into their personal account or account that belongs to someone else. It would even sound strange to me to hear that you are asked to pay a particular amount of money into their institute account days before the interview.

Do not allow your desperate self to be an enabler to their s'camming antics and flourishment.
