Many a life is like the fig tree Jesus approached. From a distance, the fig tree looked healthy — its leaves were green and attractive to behold. But when Jesus and His disciples got close, their expectations were cut short. How is it that a tree in season, showing every sign of healthy living, had no fruit?

Are you better than that fig tree? It’s a polar question. Whether you answer right or wrong, your conscience and God stand as witness.

From afar, people see you and call you an angel. But up close, there is nothing to admire. You appear pious behind the lectern and on the dais, yet in your tabernacle lurks the spirit of lust. You entrap the young, exploit them, and imprison them with the Bible.

Ponder this: Are you better than the fig tree? And remember how the fig tree ended — withered by Jesus’ word — before comeuppance and retribution visit you.

“There may be some sins of which a man cannot speak, but there is no sin which the blood of Christ cannot wash away.”

Before you call yourself a prophet or an apostle, stop and think.

Isaiah was killed for the Gospel we enjoy today.
Peter was crucified upside down.
John was persecuted and sent into exile.
Paul was executed for preaching Christ.

They did not build big churches.
They won souls.

Today, many people carry titles.
Few understand the sacrifice behind the calling.

A calling is not for making money.
A calling is for God and for winning souls.

Ask yourself.
Why is prayer difficult but movies are easy?
Why is the Bible ignored but gossip spreads fast?

Think about it.
