A PRE-MATRICULATION LECTURE titled “INCORPORATION OF TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (TVE) IN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES: A PANACEA TO NATION BUILDING AND JOB CREATION” was delivered by Engr. Dr. F. U. Obi, the Director/CEO (Ag.) of the Federal Ministry of Steel Development’s Metallurgical Training Institute, on Thursday, 11th September 2025 at the Grundtvig Polytechnic Multimedia Lecture Hall. The lecture was part of the activities aimed at preparing our students for their matriculation.
In his lecture, Dr. Obi emphasized the vital role of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) in addressing unemployment and driving sustainable development in Nigeria. He noted that TVE equips young people with practical skills, creativity, and entrepreneurial capacity, making them not just job seekers but also job creators.
For students, the lecture was a reminder that their training at Grundtvig Polytechnic goes beyond academic knowledge — it is also about developing hands-on skills, self-reliance, and innovative thinking. Such preparation is crucial for their personal success and for contributing meaningfully to nation-building.
