Learning met action today as Elohim Development Foundation (EDF), alongside partners under the Civil Society Organizations Network on Migration and Development (CSOnetMaDe), engaged students of Royal Ambassadors School, Wadata, in an interactive awareness session on human trafficking and irregular migration.

The outreach began with a discussion on how human trafficking and irregular migration are closely interconnected, helping students understand the risks, warning signs, and the importance of making safe and informed migration decisions.

The highlight of the day was the Escape Game, developed by the Media Coalition and Awareness to Halt Trafficking (MECAHT). Through engaging, module-based gameplay and healthy peer-to-peer competition, students learned to identify trafficking red flags, appreciate the importance of legal documentation, and think critically about staying safe, proving that learning can be both educational and enjoyable.

The students participated enthusiastically, collaborated with their peers, and embraced every challenge with excitement, demonstrating that interactive learning is a powerful tool for building awareness and resilience.

Together, we are empowering young people with the knowledge and skills to recognise trafficking risks, make informed choices, and become advocates for safe migration within their communities.

Local governance frameworks become significantly more resilient when every segment of society has a permanent seat at the table.

As we chart our Road to Year 3, the SPRiNG Programme is accelerating inclusive decision-making and sustainable peace across our focal states by:

🔷 Securing the structural integration of 40 women community and religious leaders in Katsina State by building their alternative dispute resolution (ADR) capacity.

🔷 Supporting the historic installation of female traditional leadership in Benue State and training 112 women on gender and security frameworks.

🔷 Empowering 300 women on leadership, cooperatives management, and livelihood resilience in Plateau State to ensure economic voices shape community governance.

These state compact milestones provide a solid foundation as we expand grassroots integration and deepen women’s participation in formal security strategies for the upcoming cycle.
