World Bank Flags off Livestock Service Centre in Taraba State.
World Bank in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security flagged off the construction of a Livestock Service Centre under the Taraba State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-Press) in Sunkani Ardo - Kola Local Government Area ,Taraba State on the 27th February 2026.
The State Project Coordinator (SPC) of L- Press Mr. Hananiah G. Albert in his opening remark during the official flag-off /block laying ceremony, appreciated His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas the Executive Governor of Taraba State for the continuous support he has been rendering to the Taraba L- Press Project since assumption of office which has assisted the project to achieve it's developmental objectives, he described the Livestock Service Centre as a one - stop platform that offers various livestock support, services to both sedentary and livestock farmers which is designed as a community of interrelalated business and service providers that aimed to support, commercialize and modernize the livestock centre.
The Livestock Service Centre will house facilities such as grazing areas, working chutes, loading ramps, weigh bridges, vertinary clinic, isolation pens, dipping vat,artificial insemination, vaccine stores, feeds and fodder sheds, offices, waste management etc.
The Centre will also serve as a link connecting farmers with the market, processing and financial services, thereby transforming subsistence - level farming into an efficient productive commercialized industry, the project will operate as a public-private partnership thereby connecting the private sector actors with government initiatives, he charged the contractors to speed up timely completion of the project.
The Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security Prof. Nicholas Namessan described the project as a historic adventure that will mark the begining of a new chapter in the transformation of the livestock sector, which will serve as a strong foundation for a better vertinary care, training, genetic improvment, disease control and agribusiness support.
The initiative will strengthen food security, create employment opportunities, position the state as a livestock leader, he deeply appreciated the tireless efforts of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas for the dedication and resilience to the actualization of the project and the partners and stakeholders for their technical support.
The National Project Coordinator, (NPC) L- Press Dr. Sanusi Abubakar in his remark, described the L- Press Project as intervention at the right time of the remodelling of the Jalingo Abbattior by the State Government, he appreciated the Executive Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for facilitating the project out of 5 selected states.
The Chairman Ardo Kola Local Government Hon. Umaru Bello Badewaire appreciated Dr. Agbu Kefas for finding his Local Government worthy of the project and pledged his full support to the actualization of the project.
The Executive Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas who was represented by the Chief of Staff Mr. Jeji Williams appreciated the National Project Coordinator L- Press for making Taraba State a beneficiary, he proceeded and laid the foundation of the project on behalf of his principal.

APC Jalingo Government Area Conducts her Local Government Congress Elections.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) Jalingo Local Government Chapter conducted her Congress Elcetions on the 21st Feburay 2026 in line with the National Working Committee Directives at the Party Local Government Area Sectariat Jalingo, Taraba State to elect new party officials.
The occasion was attended by a team of the National Working Committee Members , the Party State Chairman Bar. Ibrahim Tukura EL- Sudi, the National Deputy Party National Woman Leader Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, the Jalingo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Nura Dantsoho, Jalingo I House of Assembly Hon. Abubakar Yahuza Maidalailu and other critical Party Stakeholders and Supporters.
The Jalingo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Nura Dantsoho in his opening remark, welcomed all party members at the congress, assured them of a peaceful election and solicited for massive support from party members.
The congress election was a consensus re-affirmation of party executives which was agreed by the party stakeholders, reacting to the congress, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, APC Deputy National Woman Leader and Taraba North Senatoral Aspirant, attributed the success of the congress to the unity of the party in Jalingo and Taraba at large, she appreciated the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas who in his wisdom, advised every stakeholder to go back to his Council Ward and Local Government inorder to elect party leaders, she described the congress as credible, free and fair without opposition from members.
The APC State Chairman, Bar. Ibrahim Tukur El- Sudi in his remark, described the congress as a vindication of the party in the State and Nigeria at large, showing that the party is free of rancon which was evident in the mode of affirmation which the congress was conducted with agreement of the critical stakeholders and party officials on a unity and common list of officials who will pilot the party's affairs that witnessed no friction and disunity among members, he attributed the peaceful conduct and orderliness of the congress to the visionary leadership of the party in the state lead by the Executive Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas who is giving the party directions by ensuring everyone is carried along and instructed all stakeholders to go back to their Wards and Local Governments to elect officials without interference which is replicated throughout the state, although there might issues said the chairman, but the party has already open room for appeal, speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, he described the success of the congress as a sign of victory for the party in the upcoming elections, adding that democracy can be practiced with
one party system with reference to China where there is only circulation of leadership.

BREAKING: Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami tells court that he earned N374m from salaries, N10.17bn from private businesses, N958m as gifts from personal friends, as he seeks to vacate an interim order which directed the seizure of 57 properties linking to him
Malami revealed this through his lawyer, Joseph Daudu, who made the declaration in a motion on notice filed on Mr Malami’s behalf at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking the court to vacate an interim order made against three of the 57 properties seized by EFCC for forfeiture to the Federal Government.
The lawyer submitted that Mr Malami had copiously declared his source of income in his asset declaration filed with the CCB to include the following:
- N374, 630,900 million income from salaries, estacodes, severance allowance, and others.
- N574, 073, 000 (five hundred and seventy-four million, and seventy three thousand naira) as income generated through disposed assets.
- N10, 017, 382, 684 (Ten billion, seventeen million, three hundred and eighty-two thousand, six hundred and eighty-four thousand naira) turnover from businesses.
N2, 522, 000, 000 (Two billion, five hundred and twenty-two million naira) being loans to businesses.
N958,000,000 (Nine hundred and fifty-eight million naira) as traditional gifts from personal friends.
N509, 880, 000 (five hundred and nine million, eight hundred and eighty thousand naira) realised as income from the launch and public presentation of a book titled, “Contemporary Issues on Nigerian Law and Practice, Thorny Terrains in Traversing the Nigerian Justice Sector: My Travails and Triumphs” by Mr Malami.

Peter Obi, a prominent figure within the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has signaled his plan to seek the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He revealed this ambition while addressing supporters at a campaign event for the ADC candidates in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Area Council elections, which took place at the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants were compelled to register for the party’s ongoing electronic membership exercise.
In a statement, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the allegation as “entirely false and baseless.”
He said the claims formed part of what he termed a deliberate disinformation campaign by the ADC.
Dr. Agbus Kefas the Executive Governor and APC Leader of Taraba State, has declared that 2027 is in God's hands.
