With support from the United Nations OCHA Nigeria through Chabash Development and Health Initiative (CDHI) conducted a Capacity Building Training on Hydroponic Fodder Production for communities in Almiskin and the Veterinary Axis of Dalori, Jere LGA, Borno State.

Facilitated by the Borno State Ministry of Agriculture and the Borno State Ministry of Livestock Development, the training introduced participants to innovative hydroponic techniques for producing livestock feed using minimal land, water, and resources.

The training equipped community members with practical skills to produce sustainable fodder in preparation for upcoming livestock support, ensuring a reliable feed system once animals are distributed. It also highlighted how controlled fodder production can help reduce animals straying in search of pasture and prevent damage to farms and property.

The session created space for learning, exchange, and practical problem-solving around sustainable livestock feed production.

At CDHI, we remain committed to strengthening resilience and supporting community-driven solutions for sustainable livelihoods and food security. OCHA Funds

Supporting child nutrition goes beyond treatment, it begins with access to nutritious, locally available food solutions.

Through our field activities in Michika, we continue to promote the use of Tom Brown as a nutritious complementary food to support the health and wellbeing of children and vulnerable households. These engagements provide an opportunity to educate caregivers on proper preparation, nutrition practices, and the importance of balanced feeding for child growth and development.

This intervention is made possible through the generous support of United Nations OCHA Nigeria through the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund ( ), whose continued commitment helps strengthen community-based nutrition interventions that are practical, sustainable, and impactful for vulnerable populations.

At CDHI, we remain dedicated to improving nutrition outcomes and building healthier, more resilient communities.

Cholera is preventable, and together we can keep our communities healthy and safe.

Simple actions such as washing hands regularly with soap and clean water, drinking safe water, maintaining a clean environment, and using toilets properly can help stop the spread of cholera.

⚠️ Don’t wait until it’s too late. Protect yourself, protect your family, and share this message within your community. Every clean hand, every safe drink of water, and every hygienic practice can save lives.

There is an urgent need to strengthen prevention efforts, expand access to safe water and sanitation services, and sustain community awareness during this critical period. With support from United Nations OCHA Nigeria through the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund ( ), interventions are already reaching vulnerable communities, but many more people still need support.

Let us all play our part in promoting good hygiene and protecting our families and communities. Together, we can prevent cholera and build healthier, safer communities for all. 💙
