Lokoja, Nigeria
The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has successfully concluded its 2026 Ramadan Lecture Series in a grand and spiritually uplifting ceremony, marking the end of a month-long weekly programme dedicated to spiritual growth and enlightenment.
The series, held throughout the holy month of Ramadan, brought together Islamic scholars, community leaders, and members of the Muslim Ummah for reflection, learning, and renewed commitment to faith.
Chairman Commends FOMWAN’s Dedication
Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Justice Muizudeen Abdullahi, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State, applauded FOMWAN for its unwavering commitment to the propagation of Islam.
He praised the organization’s consistency and growth in organizing impactful programmes, while also acknowledging the depth and relevance of the lecture delivered at the event.
Digital Life and Iman Takes Center Stage
The highlight of the closing ceremony was a thought-provoking lecture titled:
“Digital Life and Iman: Using Social Media Without Losing Our Souls”
Delivered by Mansur Nayashi and represented by Malam Elukpo Abdulmuminu bin Solih, the lecture addressed the growing influence of digital life on spirituality.
The speaker emphasized that Muslims must remain conscious of Allah in all aspects of life—including online interactions.
“Not a word does he utter but there is a watcher by him ready to record it.”
(Qur’an 50:18)
Balancing Technology and Faith
While acknowledging the benefits of digital technology in communication, education, and religious engagement, the lecture warned against its excessive use.
Key concerns highlighted included:
Distraction from prayers and acts of worship
Reduced Qur’an recitation
Time mismanagement due to social media
“By time, indeed mankind is in loss.”
(Qur’an 103:1–2)
Guidelines for Responsible Digital Engagement
Participants were given practical steps to maintain strong faith in the digital age:
Purify intentions before posting
Share beneficial and meaningful content
Regulate screen time
Promote Islamic values online
Parents were urged to guide children on responsible internet use, while Islamic institutions were encouraged to blend digital literacy with Islamic ethics.
Closing Remarks and Appreciation
In her closing remarks, the Amirah of FOMWAN expressed heartfelt appreciation to the guest speaker, dignitaries, and participants for their contributions.
She commended the Lokoja Chapter for its collaboration and called on other affiliates to emulate such unity. Special recognition was also given to donors whose support ensured the success of the programme.

● [رواه الترمذي

..and when you had power and privilege to punish but overlook for the sake of Allah; and when you couldn't even missed out Salah at the right time knowing fully well this is right of Allah over you...
..my brother lemme carry you reach there; if you possess the whole knowledge of deen without fear of Allah and good character, it zero. And Allah aid is sought.
