“If you have to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one first.” – Brain Tracy.

I.e always set out to do your most difficult and important tasks first because the longer it’s on your plate, the harder it will become to do them.

One thing is certain, whether you are carrying out a big task or a small one, time and energy would always be dispensed.

The question is which task should you prioritize and focus the most of your productive hour on? The thing about starting your work with the small tasks is that you are likely to use up your energy on activities that might not contribute greatly to your overall productivity

But one thing to note also is that some people aren’t exactly at their peak performance mode in the morning. They need to ease into the workday, maybe have a cup of coffee to stimulate them, or get the smaller task done before they ease into a workday.

If that’s you, doing your most difficult tasks first would probably not be the best thing to do, you can save the big task for your high productivity time during the day. There are also other people who seem very unsure of themselves when faced with a big job, they need to get the bucket of small things done first before they find the courage to face the big one.

So whether you are starting your day with the big task or scheduling them for your high energy periods in the day, it is important that you do not overwhelm yourself or have little or no energy to do what you do excellently well. Setting a scale of preference for your daily to-do-lists will help greatly

In conclusion
Should you do the easier tasks first or do the more difficult tasks first? It really depends on the person......

Today, allow me to pull up a blank canvas before your mind’s eyes and paint some scenarios.

Your phone rings…”Abeg, no body should call me,” You mumble under your breath.

Tomorrow is an already scheduled outing or appointment with a friend…”See ehnn, I don’t want to go anywhere tomorrow,” you hiss under your breathe.

There’s a knock at your door but you turn a deaf ear and allow whoever it is to leave unattended to.

Do these pictures look familiar? I bet they are. On those days, the point is you are just feeling anyhow sha. Ever felt this way? I have and I know someone out there has or probably feels so right this minute. So I felt pressed to share this.

When you hit this wall, here is what you need to do: Sit down and open up yourself like you’d open a bag and one after the other reach out and begin to sort out the contents of your heart just like you would sort out the contents of a stuffed bag.

Lay them all out before you and begin to identify all the issues. First, you’ll realise it was because you just got news of your very young cousin who just graduated with a first-class degree and landed a job in the corporate world in the united kingdom and bam, your second class lower degree from university pops up in your face. Your 10 years plus of slaving away at a job without a dime to show for it glares at you.

Everyone is a happy duo smiling with love-smothered eyes from breathtaking Instagram pictures except you. Summer is around the corner again and it doesn’t look like you can even make it to the Airport in the next five years, even in your wildest dream…The list is endless, the scenarios numerous.

We’re living in an age of exponential information increase, with many online events happening simultaneously. This can cause feelings of overwhelm if we can’t figure out which to attend or forfeit.

Most times, we feel these programs are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, but with the advent of many meeting platforms like Google Meet, MS Team and Zoom, what happens when you have two Zoom meetings and another streaming on YouTube, both very important and unmissable?

This used to be the ‘story of my life’ until I decided I had to let some things go. In this e-learning era, when there are so much content online and most of them chargeless, we want to gather them all.

However, we can’t get the most of these programs even if we tried attending both concurrently, so it’s better to sit down with one and squeeze the juice out of it.

There are lots of virtual activities that you plan to attend; there’s a webinar happening here, a conference there, a virtual wedding here, a church meeting there. With practically everything happening online in 2021, most of us have had to make decisions on which programs to attend and which to forfeit.

If we don’t set our priorities correctly, we will be everywhere, trying to grab everything but ending up with nothing but feelings of overwhelm.
So what is the remedy?
