Episode 11: Withdrawal
The morning Mrs. Vivian withdrew her daughters from Excel Heights Academy felt strangely heavy. Even the students noticed the tension. Amanda and Ella stood quietly beside their mother near the reception area, holding their school bags and transfer documents while classmates stared sadly from a distance.
“Are they really leaving?” “I hear say the administrator dey disturb them too much.” “Na wa oh.”
Inside the reception office, the secretary avoided eye contact as she processed the withdrawal papers. Mrs. Vivian looked tired. Not angry this time. Just disappointed. Very disappointed. Miss Chinwe stood beside her quietly. “I’m really sorry things got to this point,” she said softly. Mrs. Vivian sighed deeply. “I trusted this school.” “We still care about your girls.”
The woman nodded slowly. “I know. The principal and most teachers are good people.” Her face hardened slightly. “But one wrong person can destroy peace everywhere.” Miss Chinwe had no reply.
At the far end of the corridor, Kelvo walked past casually as if nothing had happened. When he saw them, he simply adjusted his suit and continued walking. No apology. No concern. Nothing.
Mrs. Vivian shook her head bitterly. “That man should never have power over children.” Mr. Samuel arrived shortly after and greeted the girls kindly. “We will miss you both.” Amanda forced a weak smile. “Thank you, sir.” Ella remained quiet, holding her mother’s hand tightly.
As they prepared to leave, several students waved sadly from upstairs corridors. Some teachers watched silently too. Everybody knew the real reason behind the withdrawal, but nobody said it openly.
Later that afternoon, the matter spread among parents quickly. Inside different WhatsApp PTA groups, whispers began flying around. “I heard a parent removed her children because of the administrator.” “They said he was victimizing the girls.” “This is becoming serious.”
Some parents even started asking uncomfortable questions about the school’s management. Meanwhile, inside the staff room, frustration was boiling over. “This thing has finally damaged the school name,” Mrs. Peters muttered angrily. “Yet madam still protects him,” another teacher added.
Mr. Samuel sat quietly listening. Then Miss Chinwe spoke firmly. “We cannot continue pretending everything is fine.” The principal nodded slowly. “You’re right.”
That evening, both of them requested another urgent meeting with Mrs. Ngozi. Inside her office, the atmosphere was tense immediately. “Ma,” Mr. Samuel began carefully, “a parent has withdrawn her children because of Kelvo’s actions.” Mrs. Ngozi sighed tiredly. “I heard.”
Miss Chinwe spoke next. “This is affecting the school’s reputation now.” Mrs. Ngozi folded her arms. “So what exactly do you want me to do?” The question shocked them slightly. “Ma?” Miss Chinwe asked quietly. “You people complain about Kelvo every week.” “Because the problems keep increasing,” Mr. Samuel answered calmly.
Mrs. Ngozi looked frustrated. “I already spoke to him privately.” “But nothing changed,” Miss Chinwe replied. Silence filled the office for a few seconds. Then Mrs. Ngozi finally spoke again. “I cannot sack somebody based on emotions and rumors.” Mr. Samuel leaned forward slightly. “This is no longer rumor, ma.”
“He may have personal weaknesses,” she admitted, “but he still works hard.” Miss Chinwe almost laughed in disbelief. “Works hard?” Mrs. Ngozi’s face tightened immediately. “Careful, Chinwe.” The vice principal quickly controlled herself. “Sorry, ma.” But the disappointment inside her was obvious.
Mr. Samuel tried once more. “Ma, leadership is not only about completing tasks. Character matters too.” Mrs. Ngozi looked away briefly. Perhaps part of her already knew they were right, but pride would not allow her admit it openly. “I will monitor the situation,” she said finally. The meeting ended there.
As Mr. Samuel and Miss Chinwe walked out quietly, both looked exhausted. “She still doesn’t understand,” Miss Chinwe whispered bitterly. The principal sighed deeply. “Sometimes people realize danger only after serious damage is done.”
Downstairs, Kelvo sat comfortably inside his office watching comedy videos on his phone. He already heard about the withdrawal, but instead of feeling guilty, he felt victorious. In his mind, Mrs. Vivian deserved it for embarrassing him.
One junior staff member entered carefully. “Sir, some parents are asking questions about the withdrawal matter.” Kelvo scoffed. “Parents talk too much.” Then he smirked proudly. “Nobody can remove me from this school.”
Outside his office, the secretary quietly shook her head after hearing those words. Because little by little, many workers had started seeing Kelvo differently now. Not as a strict administrator, but as a dangerous man destroying the peace of the school.
And sadly, the worst part was still ahead. Because while everybody focused on his bad behavior and abuse of power, Kelvo had already started doing something even more dangerous behind the scenes. Something involving school money. And once money enters a problem, destruction usually follows very fast.

Episode 10: The Breakup
What started as sweet phone calls and secret meetings soon turned into bitterness. And when Kelvo became angry, innocent people started suffering.
At first, nobody knew exactly what caused the problem between him and Mrs. Vivian. Some people said it was jealousy. Others said they argued about money. A few teachers even heard rumors that Mrs. Vivian discovered Kelvo was still seeing other women. Whatever the reason was, one thing became clear very quickly. The relationship had ended badly.
One Monday morning, Mrs. Vivian arrived at the school looking upset. She walked straight past the reception area without greeting anybody. From inside his office, Kelvo saw her through the glass window. His face hardened immediately.
A few minutes later, loud voices could be heard from his office. “You lied to me!” Mrs. Vivian shouted. Kelvo lowered his voice angrily. “Stop creating drama in my office.” “Drama? After everything?” “Keep your voice down.” Mrs. Vivian laughed bitterly. “So this is who you really are.”
Teachers passing through the corridor slowed down quietly. The argument continued for several minutes before Mrs. Vivian stormed out angrily. As she walked away, Kelvo called after her coldly. “Don’t ever embarrass me again.” She turned sharply. “Or what?” Kelvo stared at her without answering.
The woman shook her head with disappointment and walked out of the building. From that day, everything changed. And unfortunately, her daughters became the target. Two days later, during morning inspection, Kelvo stopped the older daughter, Amanda. “Why is your shoe dusty?” Amanda looked confused. “Sir, it’s not dusty.” Kelvo pointed aggressively. “Are you arguing with me?” “No, sir.” “Kneel there.”
The girl slowly knelt near the assembly ground while students watched quietly. A teacher passing nearby looked surprised because Amanda was known as one of the neatest students in the school. But nobody dared challenge Kelvo openly anymore.
The following week, her younger sister, Ella, was punished for “making noise” in the library even though several students later said she was only asking a question quietly. Again and again, the girls became targets. Small mistakes became serious offenses. Assignments were rejected. Punishments increased. Even some teachers noticed strange instructions from Kelvo.
One afternoon, he called a class teacher privately. “Monitor those two girls very well.” The teacher frowned slightly. “Sir?” “Any little misconduct, report immediately.” The teacher looked uncomfortable. “But they are usually well-behaved.” Kelvo’s face tightened. “Just do as instructed.” The teacher nodded reluctantly.
Soon, the girls themselves became withdrawn and unhappy. Amanda stopped laughing with friends. Ella often looked afraid during school hours.
One afternoon, Miss Chinwe noticed Ella crying quietly behind the science laboratory. “What happened?” she asked gently. The young girl wiped her eyes quickly. “Nothing, ma.” “Tell me.” Ella hesitated. Then tears started falling again. “Administrator always looking for our trouble.” Miss Chinwe’s heart sank immediately. “What did he do?” “He says we are stubborn even when we do nothing.” The vice principal held the girl gently. “Don’t worry.” But inside her mind, anger was already building heavily.
That same evening, Mrs. Vivian stormed into the school angrily. Her heels clicked loudly across the corridor as she marched toward the administrative block. Parents nearby turned to look. She entered Kelvo’s office without knocking. “What exactly is your problem with my children?” Kelvo leaned back calmly. “Your children keep breaking rules.” “That is a lie!” “Madam, lower your voice.” Mrs. Vivian pointed angrily. “You are punishing innocent children because of our personal issues.”
Kelvo’s face became cold immediately. “Be careful what you accuse me of.” “Everybody can already see your wickedness!” The shouting attracted attention quickly. Mr. Samuel and Miss Chinwe rushed toward the office immediately. “Please calm down,” Mr. Samuel said carefully. But Mrs. Vivian was furious. “My daughters are suffering because this man cannot behave like an adult!”
Kelvo stood up angrily. “I will not tolerate insults in my office.” “Then stop oppressing my children!” Several staff members gathered quietly outside. Even students passing nearby slowed down to listen. Finally, Mrs. Vivian shook her head bitterly. “I regret ever trusting you.” Then she turned to Mr. Samuel. “Sir, if this continues, I will remove my daughters from this school.”
The principal looked deeply troubled. “Please, let us handle this carefully.” But as the woman walked away angrily with her daughters, Miss Chinwe looked directly at Kelvo with disgust. “You are crossing dangerous lines now.” Kelvo scoffed. “People should stop mixing emotions with discipline.”
Miss Chinwe could barely believe what she was hearing anymore. Because deep down, everybody already knew the truth. This was no longer discipline. This was revenge. And it was about to damage the reputation of Excel Heights Academy badly. Because once parents begin losing trust in a school, danger is never far away.

Episode 9: Dangerous Relationship
By second term, Kelvo had become one of the most talked-about people in Excel Heights Academy. Some feared him. Some hated him. Others simply avoided him completely. But Kelvo himself did not care. As long as Mrs. Ngozi still trusted him, he believed nobody could touch him.
One Friday during PTA meeting, parents filled the school hall discussing academic performance, WAEC preparation, and new school projects. Mr. Samuel handled the meeting calmly as usual while Miss Chinwe moved around attending to parents. Kelvo sat near the front looking important.
That was when he noticed her. A woman in her late thirties wearing a simple blue gown. Calm face. Expensive handbag. She sat quietly beside her two daughters from JSS3. Her name was Mrs. Vivian Okafor. A single mother.
As the meeting continued, Kelvo kept glancing at her from time to time. After the meeting ended, parents slowly began leaving the hall. Mrs. Vivian struggled slightly while carrying some books and her handbag together. Immediately, Kelvo stood up. “Let me help you,” he said smoothly. The woman smiled politely. “Thank you.”
Kelvo carried the books toward the parking area beside her. “Your daughters are very intelligent,” he said. “Oh really?” “Yes. Especially the younger one. Very respectful girls.” Mrs. Vivian smiled proudly. “Thank you.” Kelvo opened the car door for her dramatically. “If there is ever any issue concerning your children, just contact me directly.” The woman nodded appreciatively. “Thank you very much.”
From a distance, Miss Chinwe noticed the interaction quietly. At first, she ignored it. But over the next few weeks, she began noticing Mrs. Vivian visiting the school more often. Sometimes she came to “check on the girls.” Sometimes she claimed she wanted updates about academics. And somehow, she always ended up inside Kelvo’s office.
One afternoon, the school secretary whispered to another staff member, “That woman don become regular visitor now.” The other worker shook her head. “Kelvo no dey ever rest.”
Meanwhile, the relationship between Kelvo and Mrs. Vivian became closer very quickly. Kelvo started calling her often. He sent sweet messages. Sometimes he even walked her daughters to the school gate personally like a caring guardian. Mrs. Vivian slowly began trusting him. After all, he spoke confidently and carried himself like an important man.
One evening, while students attended extra lessons, Kelvo sat with Mrs. Vivian inside his office laughing loudly. “You work too hard,” she told him. Kelvo smiled proudly. “This school depends on me a lot.” Mrs. Vivian nodded sympathetically. “I can see that.”
He leaned back confidently. “Honestly, after madam, I handle most major operations here.” The woman looked impressed. “You must be very important then.” Kelvo smiled wider. At that same moment, Mr. Samuel walked past the office and noticed them together through the glass window. He paused briefly. The closeness already looked suspicious.
Later that evening, he quietly discussed it with Miss Chinwe. “I don’t like where this is heading.” Miss Chinwe sighed. “I noticed it too.” “This is becoming unprofessional.” She nodded. “But if we complain now, madam may still ignore us.”
The principal looked troubled. “We cannot allow school authority to mix with personal relationships.” Unfortunately, things were already going too far. Soon, students themselves began noticing special treatment. Mrs. Vivian’s daughters were rarely punished for late assignments. Kelvo often called them out during break period to buy snacks for them.
One afternoon, a teacher overheard one student whispering, “Administrator dey date their mummy.” The rumor spread quickly among students. Even some parents began hearing whispers during pickup hours. Still, Kelvo acted fearlessly.
One Saturday evening, he took Mrs. Vivian to a restaurant on the Island. Soft music played while they ate and laughed together. “You understand me better than anybody,” Kelvo told her. Mrs. Vivian smiled softly. “You are actually different from how people describe you.” Kelvo laughed confidently. “People fear strong people.”
The woman shook her head gently. “I think some people misunderstand you.” Kelvo reached across the table and touched her hand. “You’re one of the few people who truly appreciate me.” Mrs. Vivian looked shy for a moment. But unknown to both of them, somebody else from Excel Heights Academy had just entered the same restaurant. And that person recognized them immediately. A parent.
The woman quietly stared at Kelvo and Mrs. Vivian from another corner of the restaurant with wide eyes. Then she slowly brought out her phone.
By Monday morning, whispers had already started moving quietly among some parents. And for the first time, danger was beginning to close in around Kelvo’s secret relationship. Because relationships built on abuse of power rarely end peacefully. And this one was already heading toward disaster.

Episode 8: Strange Visitors
The rumors started quietly. At first, nobody paid serious attention to them. But in a school like Excel Heights Academy, secrets never stayed hidden for long.
One Thursday afternoon during lunch break, two female teachers sat near the staff room window eating rice quietly when they noticed a young woman walking toward the administration block. “She looks too flashy to be a parent,” one teacher whispered.
The woman wore a tight red dress and dark sunglasses. She walked confidently past the reception area like somebody familiar with the place. A few minutes later, she disappeared into Kelvo’s office. The teachers exchanged glances. “Maybe relation,” the other teacher muttered.
But it did not stop there. The following week, another lady visited. Then another one. Soon, workers in the school started noticing a pattern. Most of the ladies came during school hours. Most entered Kelvo’s office smiling. And sometimes they stayed there for a very long time.
One afternoon, the secretary quietly complained to Miss Chinwe. “Ma, these visitors are becoming too much.” Miss Chinwe looked up immediately. “What kind of visitors?” The secretary lowered her voice. “Different young women keep entering administrator office.” “How often?” “Almost every week now.” Miss Chinwe frowned deeply. “This is a school, not a hotel.”
That same day, she quietly informed Mr. Samuel. The principal sighed heavily. “Another problem again.” “We cannot ignore this one,” she replied. Mr. Samuel nodded slowly. “I will observe first before speaking.” But before he could act, something unexpected happened.
The next Monday afternoon, heavy rain started falling across Lagos. Many students remained indoors during break period while teachers hurried between buildings avoiding the downpour. Mrs. Ngozi had traveled earlier that morning for a meeting but returned unexpectedly because the event was cancelled.
As she entered the administration block, shaking rainwater from her umbrella, she suddenly noticed a young woman stepping out of Kelvo’s office. The lady looked startled immediately. “Oh… good afternoon, ma,” she stammered. Mrs. Ngozi paused. “Good afternoon.”
Her eyes moved slowly from the lady to Kelvo’s office door. The woman quickly adjusted her handbag and hurried away almost immediately. Something felt wrong. Very wrong. Mrs. Ngozi walked directly into Kelvo’s office without knocking. Kelvo looked surprised. “Ah, madam. Welcome back.”
Mrs. Ngozi dropped her handbag slowly. “Who was that lady?” Kelvo answered immediately. “My cousin, ma.” “Your cousin?” “Yes ma. She came to greet me.” Mrs. Ngozi stared at him quietly. “During school hours?” Kelvo smiled casually. “She was passing nearby.”
The school owner still looked suspicious. But after a few seconds, she simply nodded slowly. “Alright.” As she turned to leave, Kelvo quickly added, “You know Lagos traffic and movement, ma.” “Hmm.” She walked away thoughtfully.
Later that evening, she mentioned the incident briefly to Mr. Samuel. “I saw one young lady leaving Kelvo’s office today.” The principal looked up immediately. “What kind of lady?” “Young girl. He said she was his cousin.”
Mr. Samuel remained silent for a moment. Then he spoke carefully. “Ma, there have already been quiet complaints about strange visitors.” Mrs. Ngozi frowned slightly. “Complaints?” “Yes ma.” She sighed tiredly. “Maybe people are overthinking things.”
“Maybe,” Mr. Samuel replied carefully. “But schools require professionalism.” Mrs. Ngozi nodded absent-mindedly. Still, deep inside her mind, slight suspicion had started growing.
Meanwhile downstairs, the gossip around school became stronger. Students whispered about “Kelvo’s girlfriends.” Cleaners discussed it while washing corridors. Even security guards had started noticing the regular visitors.
One security man quietly told another, “Omo, administrator office don turn meeting point.” The other laughed softly. “Just pray make trouble no come.” But trouble was already close. Very close.
One Friday afternoon, a student entered the administration block to submit documents and accidentally heard loud laughter from inside Kelvo’s office. The door was slightly open. As the student passed, he briefly saw Kelvo sitting very close to a young woman inside. The student quickly hurried away awkwardly.
By Monday morning, the story had already spread among students. “Administrator dey carry women come school.” “I hear say one student see am.” “Na wa oh.”
Inside his office, Kelvo remained completely relaxed. He felt untouchable. Anytime somebody questioned him, he simply used the same excuse. “Family member.” “Friend.” “Relation.”
And because Mrs. Ngozi still refused to investigate deeply, he became even more careless. But while Kelvo continued enjoying himself, the reputation of Excel Heights Academy was slowly becoming damaged behind the scenes. Parents had started noticing strange things. Teachers had started losing respect. And even the students were beginning to see authority differently.
Yet the biggest scandal of all was still ahead. Because soon, Kelvo would cross another dangerous line. A line that would involve a parent directly. And that mistake would change everything.

Episode 7: The Students Begin to Suffer
At first, Kelvo only troubled teachers and workers. But before long, the students of Excel Heights Academy also started feeling his wickedness. And that was when things became worse.
One hot Wednesday afternoon, students were lining up peacefully outside the school hall after a career seminar when Kelvo suddenly appeared. “Everybody stand properly!” he shouted.
The students quickly adjusted themselves. A small JSS2 boy shifted nervously because of the heavy school bag hanging on his shoulder. Kelvo noticed immediately. “You there! Why are you bending like that?” “Sorry, sir,” the frightened boy replied. Kelvo frowned. “Come here.”
The boy walked forward slowly while other students watched silently. “What class are you?” “JSS2 Gold, sir.” Kelvo stretched out his hand. “Bring your ID card.” The boy searched quickly inside his pocket, then froze. “Sir… I forgot it at home.” Kelvo’s eyes hardened immediately. “You forgot it?” “Yes, sir.”
Without warning, Kelvo ordered him to kneel under the hot sun. Some students looked uncomfortable. The little boy’s eyes almost filled with tears. “Sir, please…” “Keep quiet!” Kelvo barked. As the boy knelt trembling, Miss Chinwe walked out of the hall and stopped immediately. “What happened here?” Kelvo answered proudly. “Discipline.”
Miss Chinwe looked at the little boy sweating under the harsh sun. “He’s just a child.” “He broke school rules.” She lowered her voice carefully. “You can correct students without wickedness.” Kelvo smirked. “That softness is why children become stubborn.”
Miss Chinwe helped the boy stand up quietly. “Go to your class.” The boy hurried away thankfully. Kelvo watched angrily but said nothing.
That same week, students began noticing strange new payments around the school. “Administrative clearance fee.” “Special ID processing fee.” “Emergency maintenance contribution.” Many students became confused because such payments never existed before.
Inside SS1 Blue classroom, students murmured quietly during lunch break. “My father vex when I tell am about the new payment.” “Mine too.” “Kelvo said anybody wey no pay no go write test.” One girl sighed sadly. “My mummy said school fees don already too much.”
Some students even started avoiding Kelvo completely whenever he walked around the compound. But Kelvo continued proudly.
One afternoon, he entered SS3 Science class during lesson period. The physics teacher paused immediately. “Good afternoon, sir.” Kelvo ignored the greeting and faced the students. “Anybody that has not paid administrative clearance should stand up.” Slowly, seven students stood nervously. Kelvo shook his head dramatically. “Very irresponsible.”
One girl raised her hand carefully. “Sir, my mummy said she will pay next week.” Kelvo looked at her coldly. “Until then, you will not enter computer lab.” The class became silent immediately. “But sir,” the physics teacher spoke softly, “their WAEC practical preparations…”
Kelvo turned sharply. “Are you questioning administrative instructions?” The teacher quickly became quiet. The students watched helplessly as Kelvo walked out proudly.
Later that evening during PTA meeting, some parents quietly discussed their concerns. “These extra payments are becoming too much.” “My daughter said students are being threatened.” “But who introduced all these things?” One parent answered softly. “That new administrator.”
At the far corner of the hall, Mrs. Ngozi noticed the murmuring but ignored it. Meanwhile, Kelvo had become even more boastful. Inside the administration block, he often said things like, “Nobody can challenge me here,” “Madam trusts me completely,” and “Once I make decision, that is final.”
Some junior staff had already stopped arguing with him entirely. Even teachers now avoided confrontation whenever possible. But Mr. Samuel was deeply worried.
One afternoon, he sat with Miss Chinwe inside his office after classes ended. “This is no longer only about staff,” he said quietly. “The students are now suffering,” Miss Chinwe replied sadly. Mr. Samuel nodded. “I heard he is collecting illegal payments.” “And threatening children too.”
The principal removed his glasses tiredly. “This school was built on discipline and care. Not fear.” Miss Chinwe looked frustrated. “But madam still refuses to see the danger.”
Just then, loud shouting echoed from outside. Both of them rushed toward the corridor immediately. There they saw Kelvo yelling at a group of students near the staircase. “Anybody that fails to obey me will suffer in this school!”
The frightened students stood silently. One small girl was already crying softly. Mr. Samuel stepped forward quickly. “Kelvo.” The administrator turned. “What happened, sir?” “Why are you shouting at children like this?”Kelvo folded his arms. “They disobeyed instructions.”
Mr. Samuel looked at the scared faces before speaking calmly. “You can discipline students without terrorizing them.” Kelvo’s face tightened slightly. “With respect sir, soft leadership is the reason many schools fail.”
The principal stared at him quietly for a few seconds. Then he said calmly, “Fear can control people for some time, but eventually, fear always destroys trust.”
For the first time, Kelvo did not reply immediately. But inside his mind, he still believed he was untouchable. Unfortunately for him, bigger trouble was already coming. And this time, it would not remain hidden inside the school walls. Parents were beginning to notice too.

Episode 6: Fear in the Staff Room
The peaceful atmosphere at Excel Heights Academy was disappearing little by little. What used to be a happy and united school was now becoming tense every single day.
Teachers no longer laughed freely in the staff room. Cleaners avoided the administration block. Even some students became nervous anytime Kelvo appeared in the corridor. And the worst part was that Kelvo seemed to enjoy the fear growing around him.
One Tuesday morning, the school bell rang loudly for assembly, but a young teacher named Mr. Ade arrived just five minutes late because his car broke down in traffic. As he hurried toward the gate carrying his laptop bag, Kelvo stopped him immediately. “Why are you coming late?” “Sorry, sir,” Mr. Ade explained politely. “There was serious traffic around Ojodu and my car…” Kelvo raised his hand sharply. “I don’t want stories.” “Sir, I…”
“You teachers think this school is your family house?” Students nearby turned quietly to watch. Mr. Ade became embarrassed immediately. “Sorry, sir.” Kelvo stepped closer. “Next time, stay at home if you cannot be serious.”
The teacher lowered his head silently and walked away while students whispered among themselves. Inside the staff room later that morning, the atmosphere was heavy. “That embarrassment was unnecessary,” Mrs. Peters muttered angrily. “He purposely shouted because students were there,” another teacher added.
Mr. Ade sat quietly without speaking. Miss Chinwe entered and noticed his expression immediately. “What happened?” Nobody answered at first. Then one teacher finally explained everything. Miss Chinwe’s face tightened with anger. “This is getting out of hand.”
Before anyone could respond, the staff room door opened suddenly. Kelvo walked in confidently. Instant silence. He looked around slowly. “I hope everybody is preparing results properly because I will personally inspect them.” Nobody answered. Then his eyes landed on Mr. Ade. “And next time, learn punctuality.”
The room remained silent. Miss Chinwe stood up slowly. “Kelvo, can I see you outside?” He smirked slightly. “Anything you want to say can be said here.” Her face hardened. “Outside.”
For a moment, tension filled the room. Finally, Kelvo shrugged carelessly and followed her out. Immediately they stepped into the corridor, Miss Chinwe faced him directly. “You are humiliating staff publicly now?” Kelvo folded his arms. “I’m enforcing discipline.” “You are disrespecting people.” “No, they are just too emotional.”
Miss Chinwe stared at him in disbelief. “These teachers were working here long before you arrived.” “And now they must adjust.” She stepped closer. “You are not the owner of this school.” Kelvo laughed softly. “But madam trusts me.” “That does not give you the right to oppress people.”
His smile disappeared slightly. “Look, don’t try to challenge me because I know my position here.” Miss Chinwe’s eyes widened. “Challenge you?” “Yes. After madam, I oversee operations here.”
For a few seconds, she could not even speak. Then she shook her head slowly. “You are becoming dangerously proud.” Kelvo smiled again. “People fear strong leaders.” “No,” she replied quietly. “People fear wicked leaders.” She walked away angrily, but Kelvo remained standing there with pride shining in his eyes.
That afternoon, another incident happened. A cleaner accidentally spilled water near the staircase while mopping. Before she could clean it properly, Kelvo appeared. “What nonsense is this?” “Sorry, sir,” the frightened woman replied quickly.
Kelvo shouted loudly enough for nearby students to hear. “Can’t you do ordinary work properly?” The woman bent down nervously cleaning faster. “You people are useless sometimes,” he snapped. A few SS2 students passing by looked uncomfortable. One girl whispered softly to her friend, “Why he too wicked like this?”
By closing hour, tension filled almost every corner of the school. Inside his office, Mr. Samuel sat quietly rubbing his forehead tiredly. Then Miss Chinwe entered angrily. “I cannot keep tolerating this behavior.” Mr. Samuel sighed deeply. “He insulted you again?” “Yes. And he publicly embarrassed Mr. Ade this morning.”
The principal shook his head slowly. “This is becoming serious.” “Then talk to madam firmly.” He looked frustrated. “I already tried several times.” “Then try again.”
That evening, both of them met Mrs. Ngozi together. As soon as they explained the latest incidents, the school owner looked irritated. “You people complain too much about Kelvo.” Miss Chinwe blinked in surprise. “Ma?” “He is only trying to strengthen discipline.” Mr. Samuel spoke carefully. “But staff morale is dropping badly.”
Mrs. Ngozi waved her hand dismissively. “Sometimes workers resist authority.” Miss Chinwe could barely hide her disappointment. “Ma, fear is already spreading around the school.” Mrs. Ngozi looked directly at her. “Then everybody should focus on their jobs.”
Silence filled the office. Mr. Samuel understood immediately that the discussion was over. As they walked out quietly, Miss Chinwe whispered bitterly, “One day this matter will explode.”
Meanwhile downstairs, Kelvo relaxed comfortably inside his office smiling to himself. He felt untouchable. Power had entered his head completely now. But unknown to him, many people in the school were already praying secretly for his downfall. And soon, even the students would begin to suffer too.
