On the 25th of August, 2023, live at Ogere Remo, a marginalized community, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, located at Ikenne Local Government Area, Ogun East Senatorial district, Nigeria. A transformative training program organized as a Customer Service Relation initiative of Intelfix Consults, a management consulting firm collaborates with the Next Digital Talent initiative successfully left a profound impact on the lives of 13 young individuals who are in small scale businesses and crafts in the community. The training aimed to bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for these underserved youth by enhancing their digital awareness and skills.

Participants of the program were exposed to the opportunities that abound in the digital world and how they can harness it. They learned the basic use of their smartphones for profit and how they can prepare themselves for future gains using technology.

The training was worth the time as the participants were glad to share their joy and insights gained from the program. We couldn't hold on to connecting with them for future programs and training impact sustainability.

DIGITEACH PROJECT: GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR TEACHERS' DIGITAL SKILLS TRAINING DONE AND DUSTED.

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) said over 60 percent of teachers in Nigeria’s public primary schools lack the digital literacy to participate effectively in any e-learning environment (2021).

At St. Peters Anglican Primary School, Joga Orile, 9 out of 10 teachers lack the basic understanding of innovative digital learning tools and methodologies that can transform
classroom learning outcome and better delivery of lesson plans.

DigiTeach Initiative has equipped 10 teachers of the schools in a 10 weeks practical skills knowledge on word processing tools (Microsoft Word/Google Docs), PowerPoint presentation/Google Slides, Microsoft Excel/Google sheet, Using Canva for presentation and design, Mavis Beacon Typing Enhancement tool, Online Search Tools like Chatgpt, Google and other relevant online resources to promote teaching and create design thinking for their classrooms and ensure proper learning outcomes and build a sense of global citizenship among learners of the school.

All 10 teachers have been evaluated and completed the 10 weeks digital skills learning opportunity.

The DigiTeach Project is proudly supported by Next Digital Talent.
