This week the Italian Ambassador, Stefano De Leo, had the great honour and pleasure to host the first celebration in the Republic of Benin of the 77th anniversary of the Italian Republic.
The Italian Ambassador during his emotional speech also spoke about the candidature of Rome for Expo 2030
“Rome's candidacy for EXPO 2030 reflects the Italian capital's desire to provide a global platform for Benin and the entire international community to work together to find new ideas, strategies and solutions in the fields of climate change, sustainable use of resources, urban development and migratory flows.”

Cette semaine, l'ambassadeur d'Italie, Stefano De Leo, a eu le grand honneur et le plaisir d'accueillir la première célébration en République du Bénin du 77e anniversaire de la République italienne.
L'ambassadeur d'Italie, dans son discours plein d'émotion, a également parlé de la candidature de Rome à l'Expo 2030.
“La candidature de Rome à EXPO 2030 témoigne la volonté de la capitale d’Italie à offrir une plateforme mondiale pour rechercher ensemble au Bénin et à toute la communauté internationale dès nouvelles idées, stratégies et solutions dans le secteurs du changement du climat, exploitation soutenable des resources, développement urbain et flux migratoires.

We had a special wine tasting paired with some Venetian cicchetti using selected ingredients offered by .Italy.lagos while chef Tracy curated a special menu which infused the two cultures (Italy and Nigeria) together. It truly was indeed a spectacular way to celebrate Italian cuisine.

Last but not least on our food heroes, we shine a light on MARCO SCOLASTICI, a Shepherd in MARCHE who revived the Sopravissana sheep breed which were abandoned in favour of more productive breeds. He started to produce not only raw-milk cheeses but also processing wool, which in the past was discarded. Marco’s work drives an effective circular local economy and shows quality, sustainability and resilience as well as rebirth and attachment to the land.
Tracy Eboigbodin, the Nigerian-Italian chef and winner of the MasterChef Italia will soon arrive Nigeria!!!
