Soweto Teen Baffles Network Providers by Guessing Airtime Vouchers When He's High.

South African mobile networks are scrambling to find a solution to an unusual problem—a teenage boy from Soweto who can accurately guess airtime voucher codes whenever he is high on the street drug Nyaope.

Eighteen-year-old Hlamulo has been supporting his family for the past two years by selling airtime vouchers at significantly lower prices than their actual value.

According to his older sister, Hlamulo only needs to be in an intoxicated state to start generating valid airtime codes. He even knows which network the codes belong to before reciting them.

“I always keep a pen and paper nearby whenever he gets high,” she explained. “He doesn’t bother with small amounts like R5 or R10. He starts at R50 and above, which we sell at a 20% discount. I started keeping track in January, and so far, we've made R35,500.”

During our interview, Hlamulo, visibly high, suddenly muttered “Vodacom” before rattling off a sequence of numbers. To our astonishment, the code turned out to be a valid R55 Vodacom airtime voucher, which we purchased for just R40.

Authorities say there is no legal action they can take against him since he technically hasn’t committed a crime. “If he is found in possession of illegal drugs, he could be arrested for that, but guessing airtime codes isn’t a chargeable offense,” a police spokesperson stated.

In response, Vodacom and Cell C have reportedly offered to send Hlamulo to rehab in hopes of stopping his activities and helping him overcome his addiction.

In a land far away, lives a man so powerful that his word could make kings or turn princes into beggars. He built his empire not on love, but on fear—deciding who thrived and who perished in the game of power.
At first, he wielded influence like a skilled player, but soon, it consumed him. Power was no longer a tool; it was an ADDICTION, coursing through his veins, numbing his soul, stripping him of empathy. He saw himself as untouchable, invincible, until his body betrayed him.

At an event, beneath the gaze of those who once trembled before him, he slumped. The once-mighty godfather, who had dictated the fate of many, now lay powerless. News of his illness spread like wildfire, but instead of prayers, the air was thick with whispers. Some masked their joy with silence, others barely hid their smirks. It wasn’t an outpouring of concern, it was karma, they said. A man who had thrived on control now couldn’t even command his own body.

This is the curse of power addiction. Addiction isolates, it blinds, and in the end, it leaves its victims vulnerable, not just to sickness, but to the cold indifference of the people they once ruled.
No throne is eternal. No man is invincible. Power borrowed today must be returned tomorrow, and how one chooses to wield it determines whether they will be remembered with love or with relief.
When the time comes, will they pray for you or celebrate your fall?
