Prolific Obafemi

In JSS 1, two of my “egbon-adugbo” (Olamide and Lucky) gave me a stapler to keep. After lunch break, I couldn’t find the stapler again… and these two bullies made life hell for me from JSS1 to SS1, threatening and extorting me daily, forcing me to do the unthinkable all in the name of retrieving their “stolen” stapler- and no one knew at home. I wish they did.
THE SHREDDING PAIN OF DEATH:
In SS2, we were struck by the death of one of my classmates, an absolutely intelligent and gentle lady (Ruth). In 2001, I lost another classmates who happened to be one of the biggest fans I ever had (Abayomi). Years after, I lost one of my friends/ brother (an intelligent IT genius & a resilient sickle-celler) - Bro Seun. I still remember and miss these people.
Fast forward to a day after my last paper in in 2006, I received the sad news of my dad’s death. The day we had planned to groove became a day to mourn. Sometimes in church, I would cry while playing the bass guitar during worship sessions at RCCG House of David (Ogudu), not necessarily because of the anointing, but because of my dad. Two years after, I was at a praise concert at The Lighted Church (Oregun) with when I was told that one of my younger sisters had suddenly died too. Again in 2016/2017, we lost the one next to her. Tough times almost killed tough man!
Oh about Yabatech, the loss of my dad took a deep toll on me that I couldn’t go back to write a course (by Pa Odunsi) I had surprisingly failed - and that’s was how I became a dropout from YCT! I know this will shock
Few years after, I lost two of the best friends I ever had (Solomon and Eky’D). I met Solomon in Yabatech and Eky’D at TPH. These two were closer than any family member - and I don’t think I can ever stop missing them. Thank you guys for being a part of my journey.
On a lighter note, I’ve been served breakfasts on multiple occasions too - but I thank God say nothing spoil sha. Femi, off your mic!!! 😂
