U.S. health officials are urging calm after a hantavirus case was confirmed among passengers being repatriated from a cruise ship outbreak linked to several deaths and illnesses.

According to authorities, one passenger tested mildly positive for the Andes virus while another showed mild symptoms. Officials stressed that the situation is being handled with precautionary measures and is “far less severe than COVID-19.”
