🌍 AU-IBAR Seeks Expert to Draft Africa’s Common Position on Sustainable Livestock

The African Union – Interafrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) is hiring a home-based consultant to lead the drafting of Africa’s Common Position on Sustainable, Resilient, and Nature-Positive Livestock Food Systems under the LiveSYS Project (BMZ/GIZ).
This 3-month consultancy is a high-impact opportunity to shape continental policy, support climate-smart livestock systems, and influence global negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead drafting of Africa’s unified livestock policy position
Conduct policy analysis, desk reviews, and evidence synthesis
Facilitate stakeholder consultations across African regions
Translate technical research into clear, persuasive policy documents
Support advocacy with briefings, presentations, and talking points

✔️ Ideal Candidate:
Extensive experience in livestock systems, agricultural policy, or food systems
Proven ability to develop technically sound and politically credible policy
Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
Familiarity with climate finance and international negotiations
