Today, many drivers are pressured into taking unreasonable risks because they fear complaints, poor ratings, trip cancellations, or even account restrictions.
Some drivers have been penalized simply for refusing to drive into dangerous situations.
What exactly is these apps expectation?

This is exactly what drivers have been demanding for years, and it's encouraging to see Bolt South Africa finally taking driver safety seriously.
If passengers can verify their identity before booking, it becomes harder for criminals to hide behind fake accounts and easier to hold people accountable for their actions.
The real question is: what is so difficult about implementing the right safety measures to protect the very people you call the engine room of your business? Drivers are the backbone of every e-hailing platform. Without them, there is no service.
Bolt South Africa has taken a bold step. Hopefully, other markets will follow and place driver safety where it belongs at the top of the priority list.
