Here is an audio excerpt (in French) of the conversation between our Senior Vice President of Growth - Estelle-Louise Dogbo and Christina Okello from Radio France Internationale (RFI) about our SEN-GENOME research study in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences and Techniques The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) from Senegal.

Estelle shared some thoughts on how this study, the first-of-its-kind in Francophone Africa, is a significant step in enabling Senegal to contribute to the advancement of Precision Medicine in the country, for the benefit of Africans and the global population.

She also outlined some of the aims of the study, such as how it will lead to further research on genetic variants causing Non-Communicable Diseases and Rare Diseases, while providing new insights for people of African descent in diaspora who wish to explore their ancestry.

World Diversity Day is set aside to hold thought-provoking conversations that support and enhance the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in all spheres of life.

Particularly in 54gene, a major aspect of our work is focused on increasing the representation of marginalized populations in genomics studies to equalize precision medicine for all people.

Considering how close to home this topic is for us, we sat down with VP, Human resources here at 54gene - Abi Bulus, who discusses the importance of having a diverse and people-focused ecosystem in our most recent blog post.
