Euphorbias in general are sun lovers, though some will tolerate partial shade. Those with deep-purple or reddish foliage will have more-intense coloring if planted in full sun.

Euphorbia grows well as a container plant indoors or outside, but you must pot it and care for it correctly. Like most succulents, spurge requires minimal water and usually won't grow well in wet or overly moist soil, but it provides a low-maintenance option for a container garden.
