Abebiorganics is my baby and has become sort of my life. I have put blood, sweat and tears into growing her and that’s why this is very sad for me. So i started Abebi right before i got into Uni (a second time) and to be honest i had no idea what i was doing. It started as a natural hair business because at the time i was obsessed with caring for natural hair and because i was in penury, i had to create affordable, read: cheap, ways for me to care for my hair.

I read so many blogs and watched videos on Youtube and Instagram and started making my own hair products. Gave out some. Used one to style my friend’s hair and she suggested i started to sell it. It sounded wild but i wasn’t doing anything so i said why the heck not.

I already had a page on ig dedicated to the care and beauty of natural hair where i showcased pictures of nigerian women in their natural hair. I also started a blog for natural hair so it was easy to put it out there. The Name was KinkyParadise. The reception was amazing. i made sales on sales. I got tons of amazing reviews. Recently found old reviews in our email even. Some i hadn’t seen before. People loved Abebi. Eventually i delved into skincare which was more technical but it was basic stuff. Body butters. Black soap. Body oils. again, amazing reception. I changed the name officially. Got it registered. Took proper formulation classes from a cosmetic formulator. Read. Studied. Practiced. The business saw me through university.

I graduated in 2019. And I had big plans for Abebi. Including getting an investor and our own store. Then 2020 came. Pandemic happened and it went downhill from there.
