Let it be written,
Not on the sand,
Not with chalks on a blackboard,
Let it be written on the rock,
On every wall my eyes saw,
On every road I walked with my legs,
On every pole I touched with my hands,
On the soul of men with soles.
Let it be inscribed on trees,
My story of beauty,
The one that was written in elegance,
Let my history be sold with my seeds,
How I managed to reproduce for many years
Yet I am still bringing forth fruits every season,
Let it be written in black and white
And kept in the museum for my seeds to read.
It is my story written by my seeds about me,
I am fruitful and proud.
