PROACTIVE & REACTIVE TEACHERS
Virtually, all schools have the two set of teachers. Proactive teachers are the great teachers while reactive teachers and not so good. The bitter truth is most schools have reactive teachers and the school owners are not aware of that.
Proactive teachers, which are not very common, ensure that the learners have solid background knowledge of the topic and teach in a sequential order. For example, a primary 4 teacher that want to take division knows that multiplication is the opposite of division and for learners to be able to divide very well, they need to have a solid knowledge of multiplication.
Proactive teachers would go further to ensure that the learners start practicing multiplication table like a week ahead, guide the learners of how the multiplication table is formed for easier memorisation and break the table into chunk in order to carry along the slow learners.
Reactive teachers on the hand would go straight to the topic and start punishing the learners when they fail without actually knowing that they, the teachers are the real failure.
