Then, on October 9, 2012, she was taking the bus home from school when a man in a mask shot her in the head. Few people thought she would not live, but after months of surgeries, she did. She went on to become a world-famous campaigner for education and the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. This personal book tells the story of Malala's amazing life.
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Maya Angelou's first autobiographical memoir, is thought to be one of the most powerful pieces of American writing. Angelou talks about her childhood in the 1930s and 1940s, when she was a child in the American South and in California. She talks honestly about things like racism, r**e and other forms of sexual abuse, and teen pregnancy. Angelou finds out the power of her own voice as she gets older and learns to love herself without limits and have a strong sense of self-worth.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chboksy

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
On her 13th birthday, a Jewish girl gets a blank book, just a few weeks before she and her family have to hide in an attic in Nazi-controlled Amsterdam. In her notebook, Anne Frank wrote about what she thought about every day while living through the horrors of war.
Due to the fact that a teenager who wrote the book in real time had no idea that millions of people would read it, it differs from other Second World War accounts.
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
This tale about an imperfect main character who grows up in Kabul, Afghanistan, will enthrall teens. Amir tries to make up for letting down his best friend and trying to get his father's approval while his country is being destroyed. Scenes are drawn with a lot of color and warmth, but they are about important things, like an assault, which may be scary for some teens.

Tips for Managing Schoolwork and Extracurricular Activities
In comparison to the past, primary and secondary school students are becoming more well-rounded. More people are now attempting to strike a balance between education and extracurricular activities in order to create a balance between their studies and their personal lives.
A good balance of academics and extracurricular activities is essential for a successful college experience. An imbalance leads to poor performance in one area but tension and anxiety in the other.
Here are four suggestions for balancing academics and extracurriculars:
Be Organized
If you want to successfully integrate your studies and extracurricular interests, you must have outstanding organizational skills. This is due to the fact that an imbalance creates poor performance in one area while also causing tension and anxiety in the other.
Choose your extracurricular activities wisely.
Joining every club or organization in school will take up a lot of your time, and chances are you won't be interested in most of them. Choose judiciously between those who pique your curiosity and those who will assist you on your path to success. It is better to focus on no more than three or four activities and gain leadership positions in them.
Have a solid support system and relationships.
Combining academics with extracurricular activities is not simple, and the value of a strong support system and positive connections cannot be overstated. You need to surround yourself with excellent people who are eager to help you and support you every step of the way, because you can't do it alone.
You must have classmates who are willing to lend you their notes, organize study sessions, and cheer you on when you are feeling overwhelmed.
Ask for assistance.
The decision to mix academics and extracurricular activities is not new; some have done it in the past, some are doing it now, and others will continue to do it in the future.
So, be willing to seek assistance and advice from individuals who know more than you do and have prior experience with what you intend to perform.
Experience is not necessarily the best teacher; instead, you can choose to learn from the experiences of others.
Time Management
The fact that you incorporate other activities with your studies does not imply that you will have more than 24 hours in a day; rather, you must design methods of properly managing your time so that your extracurricular activities or studies do not suffer as a result.
To properly mix all of these activities, you must prepare ahead of time, especially if the activities will take a significant amount of your time.
Create a priority list that includes both academics and extracurricular activities.
Exercise Self-Care
Juggling school and extracurricular activities can leave students overwhelmed and exhausted. Self-care is a broad term for whatever you do to show yourself affection. To avoid burnout, stay positive and enthusiastic, and preserve your health.
It is critical to practice frequent self-care. Self-care is completely unique to you and does not have to be expensive. Examples of self-care practices include increasing your water consumption, going for an evening walk, and spending a day without using any technology.
