“NRC has finished me, all my husband’s money is gone” - Ponzi Woman
The NRC (National Reading Culture) investment platform was an online Ponzi scheme that abruptly collapsed in early July 2026.
Promising users massive returns and daily payouts for completing simple tasks, the platform crashed when operators unceremoniously shut down the website and vanished with billions of naira in investor funds.
The platform lured users with VIP levels and promises of doubling their money within a few weeks, yielding up to ₦6,000 daily or ₦25,000 weekly. Participants were told they could earn money by reading or completing simple online tasks after paying initial subscription fees and "work deposits".
In early July 2026, thousands of users woke up to discover that their account balances had dropped to zero and the platform's website (nrc cc) was no longer accessible. Support groups were deleted, and withdrawal requests were denied.
To appear legitimate, the platform displayed a fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration number. Investigators later discovered that the website had previously operated as a Chinese job-search platform before rebranding as the read-and-earn scheme.
