GUIDING YOUR TEENAGERS NOT TO BE INVOLVED IN FRAUDULENT PRACTICES

Text: Proverbs 22:6 – "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

We are living in a generation where many teenagers are exposed to different forms of fraudulent practices. The pressure to make quick money, the influence of social media, peer pressure, and the desire to live a luxurious lifestyle have led many young people into internet fraud, examination malpractice, theft, scams, and other dishonest activities.

As parents and guardians, we have a responsibility before God to guide our children in the path of righteousness and integrity.
The fear of God is the foundation of a righteous life. A teenager who understands that God sees every action and knows every secret will be less likely to engage in dishonest practices.

Therefore, we parents must intentionally teach their children God's Word and help them develop a personal relationship with Him.

The fear of the Lord gives wisdom and helps young people make godly decisions.

Teenagers must also be taught the value of honest labour.

Many young people are attracted to fraudulent activities because they want wealth without work.

The Bible teaches that wealth gained dishonestly does not last. Success achieved through hard work, patience, and perseverance brings peace and lasting blessings.

Parents should encourage their teenagers to develop skills, pursue education, and understand that genuine success takes time.

The company teenagers keep greatly influences their behaviour. Bad friends can easily lure a young person into crime and fraudulent activities.

We as Parents should know their children's friends and pay attention to the people who influence them both physically and online. Good friendships encourage positive values, while bad friendships often lead to destructive choices.

Children learn not only from what parents say but also from what they do. Parents who practice honesty, integrity, and accountability provide a strong example for their children. If we want our teenagers to be truthful and responsible, we must first demonstrate those qualities in our own lives.

Contentment is another important lesson every teenager must learn. Many young people become involved in fraud because they compare themselves with others and desire things they cannot afford. They must understand that their worth is not determined by expensive possessions or social status. True happiness comes from living a life that pleases God and making honest progress toward one's goals.

Parents should create an atmosphere where teenagers feel comfortable discussing their challenges, temptations, and struggles.

Open communication allows parents to provide guidance before problems become serious. When children know they can speak freely without fear, they are more likely to seek help when facing pressure from friends or society.
