The 9th edition of the African Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA 2023) was held on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

The significance of African dress or costume is to mark the status of an individual or to mark a special ritual or passage of time as people moved from one state to another.

Given the above, I believe African Magic Viewers' Choice Awards, AMVCA was created to reward talents, and market the African diverse cultures through the creative cinema world.

However, the African Actors need to avoid Hollywood stereotypes, and showcase their beauty because Black is Beautiful, and it's high time we embraced the African traditional currency in styles and gait during Awards ceremony.

African Actors are the mirror of the Continent to the world. They should showcase more of their cultural variations and values whenever the opportunity present itself.

Please let African Actors merchandise themselves to create value for the industry.

Moving forward, I use this moment to appreciate the organizers of AMVCA 2023 for staging the prestigious event which brought together the continent's most talented actors, directors, and filmmakers under one roof to celebrate their outstanding contributions to the world of cinema.
